Krorr was once more out searching for creatures. This time in the forest, he didn't mind the forest, but he didn't like it either most of the bushes were taller than him though and provided good cover for him. He had, after several hours of curseiung whenever he poked himself in the eye, finally managed to weave together a new wire net with what he had left. granted it was a little smaller but still served the same purpose. He had chosen the foret mainly because he wanted to use his rope nets for a change, they were cheaper to fix.
His armor shone slightly, early morning dew clung to it as he pushed through the leaves and caught the sunlight whenever possible. The mace, which it saeemed never left his person, was grasped in one hand. the usual pack had a couple small wooden cages swinging from it and all in all the Dwarf looked the picture of his profession. A hunter.

The trees were always solace for Lydia. No matter how she felt, the mingling and shifting of shadowy leaves always brought back confidence to Lydia’s mind. Walking between the high bushes and breathing deeply of the clean air, she allowed her gaze to drift over the trees, silently hoping for some strange creature, though she didn’t really expect one.
She allowed her thoughts to drift to the problem of gold. How would she love to be a hunter; wandering the land, searching for creatures, and living adventure while she was at it. As Lydia pushed her way through a short growth of briars with a sigh, she caught her loose tunic on a thorn, and moved hastily to unhook it. No matter how wonderful the forest was, there were always annoyances.

Krorr's eyes flicked to where he had seen a color that did not b elong to the forest and looked that way, he couldn't see naything through the thick bush. Quietly as possible he moved forward into the bush, and was promptly caught fast by the branches only a few steps in. His attempts to free himself from where he nw hung, his boots flailing just a few inches from the ground ( the branch had caught in one of the packs straps) caused the bushes to rustle violently. This noise and movement was accompanied by a rather endless tirade of dwarvish curses, each more colorful than the last. The fact he had been temporarily vexed by a bush, which was embarrassing ys, was only added to by the fact te smae bush had taken a rather firm hold on his 'sacred' beard. in a few moments he would probably decisde to attempt to reach his dropped mace and smash the branch above him but for now he continued to thrash a bit, hateing the fact he was in such an undignified position.

Thrown from her track of mildly boring thoughts, Lydia’s head jerked to the side when the jarring sounds of thrashing and decidedly angry foreign words reached her ears, accompanied by the quaking of the bush beside the brier patch. Leaping over the short stretch remaining of thorns, Lydia walked to the other side of the bush, head thingyed like a curious bird, looking for the cause of such a noise. Only something that did not belong in a forest could make such a racket.
No matter how much Lydia had expected something odd, she wasn’t quite ready for the sight of a dwarf dangling from his pack, caught up in a bush. Unconsciously, she laughed, not worried the dwarf would hear the quiet sound above his own struggling. Not wanting to hurt pride by offering unasked assistance to an elder, Lydia asked a question half drilled into her head by her mother’s sharp tongue, half given by her own guarded sarcasm around strangers. “Do you need a hand with that?” Her voice barely concealed her laughter.

(( xD hes not THAT old. ))
Krorr cursed and turned to give this stranger his best glare, the effect was slightly ruined as he over swung, ending up spinning back around the way he had been faceing. He swung back around to face the person, well aware of her amusement. he folded his arms and glared at her. "No, i do not." He said fiercely as he reached for his mace, which was leaning against a tree, he caught it in his fingertips and lifted the thing, hitting the branch that had caught him with a particularly savage blow and shattering it, sending little pieces of wood flying everywhere. This done he untangled his beard and walked out of the bush with a little too much dignity for the position he had just been caught in. He stopped turned around and looked at her angrily, as if it was her fault.
' Your an idiot." He said glareing at her. "What do you want? Stalking me where you? eh? eh?" He said leaning a little closer to her face with each 'eh'.

OoC: For Lydia, anyone who’s five or more years older than her, or has a big skull-crushing weapon is an elder. Especially the last one. xD I have to go though...
“I wasn’t stalking you,” Lydia said whipping her face of any grin, coolly ignoring the insult as she picked a shard of wood from her hair. “I was walking. Last time I checked that was still allowed. Am I right? Sorry I disturbed your struggling though. What were you doing anyway?” Though impressed by the dwarf’s strength, Lydia was beginning to feel the dwarf wasn’t one to be wavered by polite words or flattery. In fact the prospect of such tactics to get out of trouble with this dwarf were so bleak, Lydia dismissed any thought of trying them from her mind.

"Hunting, and you have probably scared anything useful away." He said grumpoily hefting the mace tolay easily on his armored should. "After all its not like some kid knows what a hunter is." He said takeing a few steps in the opposite direction, he was cheery enough, if you could stick around long enough that was. he absolutely detested people like her, though he couldn't rightly judge wehat people like her where, he still detested them. He hated 'makeing friends' but was really quiet kind to those who were detirmined enough, and rather burrlike in doing so they were, to stick around and force him to ';make frineds'. Ridiculous prospect that. he stopped just before the bushes on the other side of the clearing. "i bet you couldn't tell the difference between a waraber and a Werebar" He said before takeing a step into the bushes and promptly dissapearing amoung the foilage though he could still be heard muttering bad temperedly under his breath.

Rather amused that the hunter was trying to get away so easily, Lydia quickened her pace, before falling into step beside him. "You're probably right about the last bit," she said, her voice a bit more cheery than cold. She didn't think this dwarf ment any harm, but still, he was making it difficult to have a normal conversation. "But I know what a hunter is. In fact, I hope to become one someday." As Krorr disappeared into the bushes, Lydia followed as best she could, following the faint sound of the dwarf's muttering. Holding one hand up to shield her eyes against the branches on either side, Lydia, now wishing this hunter would get out of the brush, pushed ahead. And she began to wonder how this hunter, moving easily through the underbrush could be the same dwarf caught up in a bush just a few minutes before.

(( He wasn't paying attention before. xD most unfortuneate timeing for him. xDD ))
Krorr continued to grumble as he made it through the bushes and sat on a stump beside one of the many little trails that went through the forst. "indeed." He muttered waiting for her to emerge while inspecting his mace, finding nothing really wrong with it, aside from a bit of dirt which he brushed off, he let it hang losely in one hand. He could hear her folllowing him. Thjat was the good thigng about being short, the smaller naimal trails were easy to walk on, a human would practicaly have to crawl..and a elf? Well they were another matter alltogether.

OoC: XD Well at least he got some DM bucks for his troubles.
As the troublesome path finally widened, and Lydia was able to straighten from her hunched over position, she replaced her scowl with a small smile, glad she was out of the bushes. After a quick glance about her surroundings, Lydia spotted the dwarf again, sitting on a tree stump. Leaning up against a tree, with her hands clasped in front of her, Lydia momentarily couldn't think of anything to say. After a moments thought, she finally found a suitable sentence, no matter how pointless it would be. "Hunters seem a little scarce around here." She said mildly, "You're the first I've seen in a while."

The dwarf grunted. "Im the only one here who has it as a full time profession, and i don't mind. More business for me." He said swinging his mace easily back and forth, like a pendelum. "So you want to be a hunter?" He looked her up and down. "peh. Not a chance." he said gruffly as he looked arlound. there was a colorful bird just the next tree over that he rather wanted...but it was eyeing boith the strangers to its forests wairily. krorr knew the next sudden movement either made it would fly off, so he let it be.

Lydia blinked slowly, leaning back a bit more on her tree. “I can see why you wouldn’t want me in the business.” She said mildly, “You don’t really want me blundering about in the forest and scaring off all the animals, trampling over tracks and making your job harder.” She shrugged, reaching down to pick up a stick from the ground, using a fingernail to remove strips of bark. “I can easily see myself doing that anyway. Without training I’d have to learn simply by trial and error.”

Krorr growlee softly as he watched her, he had an idea at what she was doing and was quiet suprsed at what she was asking for. He wasn't the type to bew firendly. Especially not to apprentices. He brightned up as another thought came into his mind, he wouldsee if she was really worth it. "There are other places than the forest to find creatures." He said absent mindedly brushing a spider web from his armor clad shoulder.

“I know.” Lydia said, glancing up from her stick to look briefly at the dwarf, “But what kind of hunter would I be if a client asked for a creature found only in woodlands? I would be crippled. I eliminate weakness before I prefect strength." She paused, then added, "What did you have in mind though?” Breaking the dry stick into pieces, Lydia dropped the shards of wood to the forest floor, brushing her hands on her pants before sticking them in her pockets.

"We.ll then. Perhhaps some advice for you. The volcanoe has many creatures but not only extremly dangerous to beginers like yourself but costly, to many traps and nets can be incenerated. The desert holds many suprises but is full of mostly insect like types. The forrests are home to all kinds..oh and the ruins are often the home of certain creatures that stop in for a rest. All of these places are unwise to go into without proper...defense. " He said, resumeing the swinging of his mace from side to side.

Lydia nodded, "Thank you for the advice. Especially about the desert. Many rumors hang around it of the dangers." After a short pause, as she considered the dwarf's words she continued, "I do carry a dagger and at times a staff. I've learned that bad things happen to those who don't carry a blade." Her eyes moved to the path of the swinging weapon of the dwarf, and added, "Or a mace." With her talk of weopns, Lydia's hand drifted to the hilt of her dagger unconsciously, as if reassuring herself it was still there.

The dwarf chuckled quietly. 'The mace is quiet usefull if you know how to use it, good for knocking things out. Now if you would be so kind as to outline why you are here?" He said in an irritated manner. "I can offer you a few names of people who have a small amount of basic knowldege for you." He said getting off the stump and turning around again once more makeing to head in the opposite direction of her.

Rather confused by the jumble of statements, Lydia picked the one she could best respond to; "I'm here to take a walk, maybe see some things, relax. I like the trees, just not the brambles and bushes." As Krorr rose and began to walk, Lydia too shook herself from her relaxed state, trotting forward to get close enough to talk once more. Then after a moment of thought, she asked "How basic and little is the information, and how many people are there?" There was no need to tell her purpose for asking such things, Lydia decided. She didn't even know this dwarf.

Krorr grumbled softly. She didn't give up very easily. "Very basic for me, but im sure it would take you several months to cover that tiny amount of information." he shot the insult easily over his shoulder as he walked, eyes narrowed angrily, but still flickering over the area in case anything unfriendly was watching him.

With a small smile at the dwarf's insult, Lydia still kept pace with him. "Even months of training wouldn't be enough make it worth my bother to see people for minimum information." She said contentedly, "I'd rather just mess up a few times and learn what I can. The lesson will stick better that way." She shrugged, the smile still lingering on her lips.
