A Capturing Expedition

[Julia]

It was quiet in the forest, except for the sound of plants being cut and twigs being snapped. Kira was using her dagger to get through a few of the bushes blocking her path, looking for a sign that she's on the trail of a creature.

[Cricket]

A pair of butterfly wings flittered in the wind before landing on a flower. The petals opened and moved as the creature tried to get inside the enclosed rose. 'The roses that weren't bloomed yet are always the best,' the creature thought, ripping out petals as she made her way to the core. The wings were spred, showing off the beautiful red and black markings of a monarch butterfly. As on petal was ripped away the thing holding it could only be recognized as a human hand. The fairy kept to her work, tearing out petals and such. She was dressed in a strange red leaf that was wrapped around her like a dress, and she had long strands of curly brown hair.

[Julia]

Kira stopped, hearing a slight rustling in the nearby rose. She looked closely, discovering a tiny fairy who was trying to tear the rose apart. She held her breath and tried not to make a sound, not wanting to scare her away, as she quickly took out a small jar that was twice the size of the fairy. Kira then crept toward the rose, hoping to capture the little beauty inside of it.

[Cricket]

The fairy froze, her wings stopping their balancing sways as she listened. She couldn't 'hear' the predator, but she could definately feel it, she let go of the red petal and turned her head around, staring blankly at Kira for an instant, not really thinking as she stared at the much larger and wingless version of her species. Her eyes watched Kira, wondering exactly what to do.

[Julia]

When the fairy looked her way, Kira stopped in her tracks, trying to think up of a plan to catch her, and when she noticed that the fairy wasn't doing anything at first, she darted forward as quickly as she could and cut off the rose head with her dagger, catching it in her jar and putting on a lid. She looked inside to see if she caught the fairy, or if she managed to escape while Kira was getting the rose head.

[Cricket]

The fairy leaped in the air onto another flower as the rose was cut and dropped into the jar. She glared at Kira, and snapped, "What was that for?!" She flittered up, and zoomed right onto the lid of the jar, glaring fiercly at her. A different creature flew down beside the first one, this one however, was much different. The pixie also glared at Kira, twitching it's ugly black beetle wings as it's dark pure black eyes stared blankly at the humanoid. The fairy jumped into the air in shock, repulsed by the other creature that had joined them. Fairys and pixies never got along, why would a pixie help her? She looked down and spotted the reason. Two hideously ugly beatles crawled on the ground beneath her. She could tell by the pale underbellies they had that they were baby pixies. Kira had almost stepped on them in her dash to cut the rose. She shuddered, and returned to her glance at the human.

[Julia]

Kira quietly scolded herself for trying to capture the fairy that way. She forgot that that kind of approach almost always failed. She then blushed in embarrassment, and hastily replied, "W-well... um... Well, I was trying to capture you. I've always liked fairies, and you were a particularly beautiful one, so I really wanted to keep you..." She hung her head in shame. Then looked up again and tilted her head in curiosity at the pixie. She had never seen one before, and was wondering what it was. She also wondered why the creature was also angry, and followed the fairy's gaze to the babies on the ground. "Er... sorry for nearly squashing those beetles, if they belong to you." She sighed, angry at herself for being so careless.

[Cricket]

"Those are my kids!" The pixie yelled, completely livid. She murmered something under her breath, and six to seven spiders came out of the ground and started crawling up Kira's legs. She smirked, laughing at what the spell had done. She was new to magic, so she was afraid something would explode.. Like last time..

The fairy stared at her, "You wanted to KEEP me?" She asked, eyeing her, "Like.. as a pet?"

[Julia]

Kira shrieked, shaking of the spiders and stomping on them. "Hey! I didn't even know that those were your babies, since I never saw one of your kind before! I don't even know what you are!" She directed the remark at the pixie. Then she replied to the fairy, "Well, not like a pet. I don't treat the creatures I keep as pets. I just never saw a fairy like you before, and when you looked at me, I thought the chance to catch you was nearly lost, so by instinct I did what I did, since that's what I always did when I was smaller, since I was a thief. I would always just rush in as quickly as possible whenever the person I was trying to steal fom looked at me."

[Cricket]

The fairy was flattered. This, in itself, was probably to only reason she didn't scream or yell at Kira. Actually, if she knew she would be pampered by this human, she would gladdly go. "Hm.." She said finally, "And what kind of treatment do you give these.. non-pets of yours?"

The pixie glared at her, "I. Am. A. Pixie!" She said slowly, as if talking to a toddler, "Did you understand all of that, sweetie?"

[Julia]

Kira sighed, glad that everything was starting to go right, except for the pixie. "Well, I'm kind of different from the other hunters, since I don't just capture a creature and act as if it doesn't have feelings and treat it as a thing. So far the only friends I have are two dragons, who I gave a safe home that no one else knows about and that has pretty much everything a dragon needs. I always like visiting them to check if they're doing well, and to talk with them. Maybe you'd like to live there, too? I remember seeing a lot of roses and other flowers there, plus there were some quite rare ones that are abundant in that area." She cheerfully replied to the fairy, hoping that she would get another friend. Then Kira turned to the pixie, and answered in an icy tone, "Well, thank you for telling me. And of course I understood. I'm not a little baby, you know."

[Cricket]

The fairy thought about it. "Alright then, I'll go with you." She said, smiling at her.

The pixie glared icily at her, still on the jar that was ment for the fairy. "She'll probably kill you or sell you or something!" She accused angrily, flying so she was inches infront of Kira's face, "You can't trust humans."

[Julia]

Kira was delighted that the fairy trusted her, but when the pixie made her remark, she angrily took out her elemental staff and drenched the pixie with it. "I would never, ever do such a thing!" She glared menacingly at her, then an idea struck her. She quickly tried trapping the pixie in the jar.

[Cricket]

The pixie bolted towards the human, but hit the outer glass of the jar instead. "Hey! Let me out!" She screamed, hitting the glass.

"Thank God.." The fairy said, shaking her head at the pixie.

[Julia]

Kira put the jar in her little backpack and took another, smaller jar out. Then she put the baby pixies in there. "I think I'll sell the wretched pixie to teach her that she shouldn't be rude to an elf. And as for the babies, I'll keep them and teach them to be nicer than their mom is, since I don't think they deserve a mother as mean and evil as her." She said, grinning.

[Cricket]

"Are we ready to go then?" Asked the fairy, sitting on the jar that contained the pixie mother.

((Okay. XP Like the valley I thought of? We should have a mountain range as another place to hunt creatures. Oh, and the mountains are so high that you can't just fly over them into the valley, because of the lack of oxygen. So the only entrance into it is the waterfall.))

"Yup." Replied Kira, as she placed both jars in her backback and gave the fairy a place to sit on her shoulder. Then she hiked over to the edge of the forest, where a small ring of high mountains sat, and went to a high and dangerous waterfall that went over a cliff. She used her elemental staff to create a doorway through it and entered the hidden valley inside the ring of mountains. In the valley was a small spring with grassy meadows dotted with flowers of all sorts. Nearby was a big cave, in which at the entrance lay a dozing mother dragon, while her son was at the edge of the spring, watching fish dart to and fro. When they saw Kira enter, the mother lifted her head, while the baby ran over to Kira and eagerly greeted telepathically, ~Hi, Kira! Everything's been going great! I just made my first catch, and- Who's this?~ He asked, standing on his hind legs to get a better view of the fairy.
