Julia hiked up the small hill, looking around with her piercing azure eyes, and brushing her electric blue hair our of her eyes. She had finally decided to quit stealing things from stalls, and to start making a living by capturing and selling some creatures. She drummed her fingers on the knife hanging on her belt and scanned the terrain.

A rather disgruntled Raki waddled around, sniffing at the lake and then moving on. It was black with orange stripes and long, white horns that gave it the look of an ugly guinea pig/wild boar mix. But instead of looking cute like a guinea pig, it was something that was really hard to love. Which is why they got used in fancy restaurants as main courses.

Julia looked distastefully at the Raki, "It may not be pretty, but it's useful." She said to herself, taking out a banana and offering it to the Raki as bait. She made soft clicks with her tongue to call it over.

The raki snorted at the banana and backed up a little. With an angry squeal, it charged at her and tried to knock her over even though it was hardly even a foot long. Its sharp horns were aimed at her foot.

"Woah!" Julia yelled, jumping up over the Raki and landing a few feet away from it. Then she took a net and rope from her backpack, and threw the rope onto the raki's horns. "Note to self," Julia told herself, "Never offer a raki a banana."

Just then a baby dragon shot out of the bushes and attacked the raki, but the little hog-thing turned around just in time and attacked the dragon, stabbing its horns into the baby creature. The dragon growled and shook the Raki off, trying to eat it.
Settle the fight?

Julia gaped. She'd always wanted a dragon. Quickly she tightened the rope's grip on the Raki's horns, and pulled on the rope to try to make the raki fall over so it couldn't attack the dragon.

The Raki used the position it was in to its advantage to flee and run off into the bushes. The baby dragon stared at you for a moment before squealing sadly.
~I can't find my mom!~ It cried telepathically, its voice squealing pathetically in her head. It was a small, green dragon with sharp horns and an arrow on the end of its tail. It fanned out its wings.

Julia looked at the dragon in astonishment when it spoke through telepathy, but then her expression turned to sympathy. She did always want a dragon, but she had a soft side, and wanted to help the dragon. She didn't want it to grow up without parents like she did. Slowly she crouched down on the ground and held out her hand for the dragon to sniff. "It's okay, I won't hurt you. I want to help you find your mom." She told the dragon in a low and comforting tone. She hoped the dragon would trust her enough for it to let her help it.

The baby dragon hissed slightly, backing up and curling it's back like a cat does, except it leaned so much that it fell over on it's side. Using it's wings it fluttered clumsily on it's feet, and realised that the human girl did want to help. It nodded.
~she went hunting and she's not back yet!~ it stated through telepathy again. A yell could be heard from nearby, as well as a roar. ~That's my mom!~ The baby dragon hurtled forwards through the bushes, and disapeared. Another yell was heard, and a screech.

Julia ran after the dragon and broke her way through the bushes. "Wait! You don't know what's over there!" She yelled to the dragon.

The baby was standing nearby the corpse of a dead Winged Serp, its eyes wide. The thing must have died from the Venom-Blood disease. The carcass smelled of sickness and disease, scaring the baby dragon away.
~That disease! It's horrid.~ The baby cried, running to Julia and taking shelter behind the humanoid.

Julia stared at the carcass for a while, taking pity on the winged-serp, even it was its race that started the disease. "Um... we should get out of here, and look somewhere else..." Julia took a few steps back, she beckoned the baby dragon to follow, urgently. "Hurry, or you can get the disease, too!"

The dragon cast one last sad glance at the Winged Serp before following Julia, walking and staring back before it looked forwards and ran to catch up.
~MOM!~ he screamed telepathically, wondering if his mother could be anywhere around. A swoosh and a roar is heard from nearby, behind a large clearing of trees, and a large wing can be seen over the tip of a treetop. ~That's my mom!~ he told Julia, before running ahead.

Julia sighed again. Did the baby dragon always rush off like this? Anyways, she followed him, but cautiously, and she caught up with the baby dragon, panting and sweaty, and looked up at the creature in the clearing.

The mother dragon, a beautiful large creature with wings fanned out in surprise at the baby dragon who rushed up and rubbed his head against her front leg. ~You're back!~ she widened her eyes and dipped her head down to make sure it was, in fact, her baby. Satisfied, she looked at Julia who had come into the clearing. ~Did you return my baby to me?~ she asked, tilting her head slightly and hoping that the girl was not a threat.

"Yes, I did return your baby." Julia replied, looking up in awe at the majestic dragon. She was a bit nervous, actually, for she knew that mother dragons were especially protective of their babies.

The mother narrowed her eyes, studying Julia. "You tell the truth!" she smiled, dipping her head in respect to the elf. "Hunters are trying to kill my baby and I for our skin. They want to make Dragon Skin gloves- when my baby went missing I was afraid he'd been killed." she explained, raising her head again. "I'm so grateful- is there any way I can make it up to you?" "Can we go with her?" The baby dragon pleaded to it's mom. "I had lots of fun looking for you! She made sure I wasn't hurt." The mother glanced down at her baby and blinked, before looking back at Julia expectantly.

"I hate those types of hunters, unlike them, I respect dragons and try to help them whenever I can. I even hope to be a dracus one day..." Julia replied, relieved that the mother dragon believed her, then she pictured herself as a dracus, with those magnificent wings and long powerful tail, and even being able to turn into a dragon! "Oh, and I would be delighted if you could come with me!" Julia snapped out of her transe, and replied once more. Her eyes sparkled with happiness. She always wanted to know a dragon and be friends with it, and if was one of her dreams. But this was better, for she might be able to be friends with two dragons!

The mother nodded with a small sigh. ~I would normally never have accepted that." she stated. "But with the danger in the forest, I need to be able to trust you.~ she nodded to Julia. Her baby dragon bounced happily around, grinning up at it's mom, who layed down on the ground. ~So, I belong to you now. ~ She stated, looking up with more confidence. ~What shall we do?~
